Peugeot retro cycling jersey
The Peugeot retro cycling jersey. This is the replica of the classic Peugeot jersey, that has played a leading role in so many cycling events over more than a century. Peugeot is still the most successful cycling team ever. Since the late 19th century this French manufacturer of quality bicycles featured in many races, with Hippolyte Aucouturier winning Paris - Roubaix on a Peugeot bike in 1903 (before being disqualified from the 1904 Tour de France for cheating by using train and car..). One of its most successful riders was Tom Simpson, who became Britain's first cycling World Champion 1965. Eddy Merckx also rode in this classic checkerboard jersey during the early years of his career. After 10 general Tour de France victories, and another 3 Vueltas, the Peugeot team finally disappeared from cycling in 1989. But its successes have never been equalled, and its distinct jersey remains a classic for all cycling fans.
The jersey has a ¾ concealed zipper as well as three back pockets and an extra long back panel. It is made of high quality, very breathable fabric, it has a great slim fit and is produced in Europe.
